Staff pick as of: 2015/02/03 18:32:38 UTC-08:00 (9 years and 324 days ago)
Denizen Version: 0.9.6-dev151
Script Version: 1.0
Description:

SQLManager provides a set of utilities and wrappers that scripters can use to make using SQL in their scripts easier. It does all the hard work for you.

Features a connection Heartbeat to keep your connection to the server alive. Will attempt reconnection if Heartbeat check fails.

Offers a connection check procedure script to easily check if the database is online before issuing any sql commands.

Manages an offline queue system. Using this method automatically caches any update statements that are attempted while the database is offline. They will be automatically processed when your system is back online. See usage instructions below.

Provides a Managed Restart system that integrates with the Offline Caching system. Avoids potential duplicate reconnection attempts!

#
#
# ABOUT:
#
#       Use SQLManager to build your default tables in an existing (empty)
#    database AND to establish your mysql connections on start. It does all
#    the sanity checks for you, just have a proper config.yml for your script.
#
#       Features a connection Heartbeat to keep your connection to the server
#    alive. Will attempt reconnection if Heartbeat check fails.
#
#       Offers a connection check procedure script to easily check if the
#    database is online before issuing any sql commands.
#
#       Manages an offline queue system. Using this method automatically caches
#    any update statements that are attempted while the database is offline.
#    They will be automatically processed when your system is back online.
#    See usage instructions below.
#
#      Provides a Managed Restart system that integrates with the Offline
#    Caching system. Avoids potential duplicate reconnection attempts!
#
# -------------
#
# USAGE:
#
#--- Intro:
#
#       To use the SQLManager in your script, you will need 2 main things.
#     First, you'll need a script container holding your table structures.
#     Then, you'll need a config.yml file that holds the connection info, and
#     the database and table names. These are all configurable to the end user.
#     Once you have your script set up you can inject the SQLManager from your
#     script. SQLManager will create the tables if they do not exist.
#
#--- SQLTable Data:
#
#       SQLManager reads the yaml file (%sqlFile%) you specify for the script
#     container (%sqlScriptName%) you specify. SQLManager expects the node
#     structure %sqlScriptName%.tables.%tableName%.columns.%column% and the
#     value is expected to be a valid sql column type declaration for use in a
#     create statement.
#
#    See the example below for format and structure.
#
#    YourScript_SQLTables:
#      type: task
#      debug: false
#
#      script:
#      # This script is used later in this Usage guide
#        - define sqlScriptName 'YourScript_SQLTables'
#        - define sqlFile '<script.relative_filename>'
#        - if <yaml.list.contains[%sqlScriptName%]> yaml unload 'id:%sqlScriptName%'
#        - yaml 'load:%sqlFile%' 'id:%sqlScriptName%'
#        - if !<yaml.list.contains[%sqlScriptName%]> {
#          - announce "<&c>YourScript<&co><&b> An error occurred while loading %sqlScriptname%!" to_console
#          - announce "<&b>YourScript<&co><&3> Aborting..." to_console
#          - inject s@%scriptName% p:unload
#          }
#
#      tables:
#        SomeLogs:
#          columns:
#            id: INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY
#            playeruuid: varchar(255)
#            date: TIMESTAMP DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP
#            service: varchar(255)
#        AnotherTable:
#          columns:
#            id: INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT PRIMARY KEY
#            playeruuid: varchar(255) NOT NULL UNIQUE
#            pointsearned: INT NOT NULL DEFAULT '0'
#            pointsspent: INT NOT NULL DEFAULT '0'
#            pointsbalance: INT NOT NULL DEFAULT '0'
#
#--- Generating the config.yml file
#
#       Your script must have a valid config.yml file for the SQLManager
#     to know what to generate and how to connect. The config.yml file allows
#     the end user to change the database and table names as needed. The example
#     below shows the required information. Use the ConfigFileGenerator to
#     ensure that the config.yml file is generated correctly.
#     See the ConfigFileGenerator for usage instructions.
#
#    EXAMPLE:  Default Configurations Entry
#
#      'YourScript_Configurations':
#        type: task
#        debug: false
#
#        config:
#          MySQL:
#            connection:
#              retry: 3
#              retryDelay: 10s
#              keepAlive: 5m
#              host: localhost
#              port: 3306
#              username: root
#              password: password
#            database: YourScript
#            tables:
#              SomeLogs: yourScript_logs
#              AnotherTable: yourScript_custom_table_name
#
#--- Running the SQLManager
#
#       Now that you have your script setup to include all the prerequisite data
#     you can include SQLManager in your script startup. Your script should run
#     at server start (with a delay 2S) to make sure all your sql data is loaded
#     and ready before you try to make calls to it.
#
#       SQLManager expects some definitions to be available when you inject it.
#     It will auto-unload if this data is not available!
#
#       %yamlName% refers to what you have named your scripts config.yml file.
#     That file is required to be loaded as %yamlName%_config
#
#       %scriptName% is used to run an unload script in your script in the event
#     that something fails durring any part of initialization.
#     - ^inject s@%scriptName% p:unload
#
#       %sqlScriptName% refers to the name of the script container that holds
#     your table declarations. This YAML file must be loaded as %sqlScriptName%
#
#
#    EXAMPLE:  run from an on server start event
#      start:
#        - define yamlName 'YourScript'
#        - define scriptName '<script.name>'
#        - yaml 'load:%yamlName%/config.yml' 'id:%yamlName%_config'
#        - inject s@YourScript_SQLTables
#        - inject s@SQLManager
#
#
#--- Offline Caching System
#
#       SQLManager offers an offline caching system. This helps safeguard you
#    against lost data while the sql database is offline. This is only for
#    sql update statements!
#
#  Example:
#     Normal sql update command:
#       - sql id:%db% "update:INSERT INTO %tableName% (playeruuid) VALUES ('%uuid%');"
#
#
#    Replace your sql update commands following this example:
#      - define statement "INSERT INTO %tableName% (playeruuid) VALUES ('%uuid%');"
#      - inject s@SQLManager_Offline p:managedUpdateStatement
#
#    Make sure you have defined the requisite data before running!
#    It will fail if these definitions are not available!
#      - define yamlName 'YourScript'
#      - define scriptName '<script.name>'
#      - define db 'YourDbName'
#      - define statement 'YourStatement'
#
#    To check if a database is offline before query statements use:
#      - if <proc[SQLManager_ConnectionCheck].context[%db%]> {
#        - narrate "Database Online!"
#        }
#        else {
#        - narrate "Database Offline!"
#        }
#
#
#--- Managed Restarts
#
#       SQLManager offers a Managed Restart system. This is intended to prevent
#    your system from having multiple simultaneous connection attempts, and it
#    integrates with the Offline Caching system.
#
#    There are a few things you need to do to use this system...
#
#       You will need to have an unload subscript in your script container. This
#    subscript should unload any open yaml files you have and do any final
#    processing that your script needs to do before the system shuts down.
#
#       You will need to have a start subscript in your script container. This
#    subscript will be run by the SQLManager once everything else is shutdown.
#    This should be the same subscript you run from your on server start event
#    to start your server.
#
#       Inside the start subscript you will need to check the status set in the
#    SQLManager/cache.yml file and set it to connecting if appropriate!
#    Follow this example taken from PerkPoints:
#
#        start:
#          - ^define yamlName 'PerkPoints'
#          - ^define scriptName '<script.name>'
#          - ^inject locally reloadYaml instantly
#          - ^inject locally loadData instantly
#          - ^if <def[useSql].is[!=].to[true]> {
#            - announce "<&b>PerkPoints<&co><&c> Must be configured to use MySQL!" to_console
#            - inject locally unload
#            - queue stop
#            }
#          # This checks the status as set by SQLManager to not duplicate restart
#          # processes. This is the only time this script needs to set the status. The
#          # SQLManager will handle every other situation.
#          - ^define status '<yaml[SQLManager_Offline].read[Offline_Cache.databases.%db%.status]||null>'
#          - ^if <def[status].is[==].to[connecting]> {
#            - announce "<&b>SQLManager<&co><&c> Already attempting to reconnect to %db% database!" to_console
#            - queue stop
