> Make The Tree however
> Export however necessary to .dae
> Open Blender ( http://www.blender.org/ )
> middle click in the 3d view outside the logo to remove the logo
> DELETE key to remove the defaultly spawned box
> File->Import->Collada(DAE)
> Select the file and import it
> A key to deselect all (There should be no remaining orange/yellow highlights. If there is any, press A again).
> Right click on a leaf to select the leaves object
> press TAB to open vertex edit mode
> without moving the mouse, press Shift+D (to duplicate all the leaves), then left click to place without moving
> press W to open an option menu, click 'flip normals'
> Press A once or twice to select all
> click the bottommost leftmost icon and select UV/Image editor
> Put the mouse in the middle of the two new squares visible
> press A to select all
> press G, then press X, then move your mouse until the two boxes are perfectly aligned together (they should become a single box)
> Click to place
> Put the mouse in the 3D view
> press TAB again to exit edit mode
> Right click to select the trunk
> TAB for edit mode
> mouse into the UV/Image area
> A to select all
> Using the keys G and S to move and scale respectively (When doing either, press X or Y to restrict to that axis), align the trunk UV into the box. Optionally, press R to rotate as well if that helps.
> mouse into 3D view
> TAB to exit edit mode
> File->Export->Collada(DAE)
> Save the new file somewhere
> copy the new file into Voxalia/ModelToVMDConverter/bin/Release
> Using your favorite command line, execute this command (within that folder): ModelToVMDConverter.exe FILENAME.dae
> delete the copied .dae file
> Move the created .vmd file to Voxalia/.../data/models/plants/trees
> Rename the file to whatever it should be named, EG 'birch02.vmd'
> Copy birch01.skin to a new file in the same folder, rename it to match your model, EG 'birch02.skin'
> Save any new textures into the Voxalia/.../data/textures/plants/trees folder
> Open FILENAME.skin (in the models folder) and edit the texture names to whatever you named the texture files. (In theory, the object names should stay the same and can be ignored.)
> Open Voxalia singleplayer, wait for the game to load in
> Move to an open area
> Open the console (~ key) and type the folllowing: devel spawnTree FILENAME
> move out of the tree, optionally using this command to assist: devel fly
> Observe pretty tree.
